The team at Great Central Dental extend a warm welcome to all existing and new patients.

We aim to provide all our patients with a personal and caring approach to dentistry. You can be assured of a treatment approach tailored to your specific needs.

We invite you to meet our small, friendly and informal team. We understand the anxieties associated with many aspects of dentistry and aim to dispel them with an empathic approach.

Our practice has been established since 1958.

Welcome back!


We would like to extend a warm welcome back to all our loyal patients here at Great Central Dental and to inform you that we are doing everything in our power to enable us to open in a safe and timely manner.

We would also like to say a very big and heart-felt thank you to all of you for your patience and understanding during this very challenging time for all of us.
 
What to expect when we open

We will be contacting all the patients the day or two before their appointments to explain the procedure and their journey through the practice at the time of their appointment. Please keep your mobile phones switched on and available as otherwise this could have an impact on your appointment.

Note also that your nurse will greet you at the entrance and will be dressed in PPE with goggles/ visor, mask and apron and she may sound muffled when she communicates with you. Please bear with us during this time.

Here are a few points for you to consider before you attend the Practice:

 

  • We will need to update your MH including some Covid questions, we can either do this over the phone or via our Patient Portal.
 
  • Payment must be made before you attend the Practice by phone or via our Portal
 
  • Please inform us of any dental issues you have as this will affect the length of your appt
 
  • Please use your bathroom at home, there are no restroom facilities on site any more
 
  • Come to the practice alone unless you need a carer, if you get a lift from someone they must stay in the car for the duration of your visit.
 
  • Aim to arrive at the Practice exactly on time, if you early you will have to wait outside and if you are more than 5mins late we will not be able to see you
 
  • The inner door will be locked, a staff member will come to let you in. They will be in full PPE do not be alarmed, we are smiling behind our masks!
 
  • Your temp will be taken, if it is above 37.5 we will have to turn you away.
 
  • Once inside you will have gel to clean your hands and your belongings will be placed in a lockable locker. Please limit the amount of belongings your bring to essentials only
 
  • Our risk assessment does not require us to provide you with a mask, if you wish to wear a face covering please provide your own.
 
  • You will then be escorted straight to the surgery, the patient lounge is no longer available
 
  • After your treatment is complete, your next appt will be made in the surgery, you will then be escorted out to retrieve your belongings and exit the building.
 
  • It has always been our great pleasure to chat with our patients, however these new procedures and time restrictions mean that, apart from discussing your clinical needs with the dentist, we will not be able to have lengthy conversations with us. This is a source of great sadness to us but hopefully we will be able to do this again when we progress to happier times

We want to re-iterate that the safety of patients and staff is our biggest priority and that we are very much looking forward to welcoming all of our patients back and to resuming a “new normal” service as soon as is allowed by the regulatory bodies.
